When I was in my fifteen year old self, I used to think that I'll live a happy life alone after being successful without any friends. And I don't blame my younger self for having this fallacy belief.
But as I grow, I realise and understand very deep meaning that I want to share through this blog.
As we know humans are social animal, and according to a study conducted by Harvard University, the happiness index of people is much higher who have meaningful relationships and friendships than the people who don't. There is no trace of success in the measurement factor for happiness index.
We often think that life lies in big moments, like the day when you get into a college of your dream, your first day at your job, the day you get married etc. But what I realized is that life is actually between these big moments. Life lies in 'this' moment, the moment when I am writing my thoughts and you are reading my thoughts.
And what make these small moments more meaningful is our relationship with the people around us, the genuine connections, be it a family member or a long distance friend whom you never met.
We often read post which tells that 'you are lucky if you have a person who genuinely care about you'. But why can't we found posts that says "you are lucky if you genuinely care about someone". Personally I found more happiness in giving love than receiving.
When you have people around you, who you care, and do act of love, not because you expect same from them, but just because when you do something for them that simple act gives you happiness, and that's the real thing!!!
When you have to wake up at 6:00 am, but you still pickup your friend's call at midnight because they are having a breakdown, not because you expect same behavior from them but you genuinely care about them. And these act of love , that gives you happiness.
In the span of our lifetime , we cross paths with thousands of people but just few remains close to us. I highly believe in the connection power, and i have people who I care about and they reciprocate the care and love with same intensity or even more. And I also have a person whom I love and care so much but they don't reciprocate , but that doesn't change my feelings because as I mention I find happiness in giving.
So this blog is a reminder for you to just show to the people you care about. Because that's the real thing life lies in.
